Margaret A. O’Reilly is an estate planning and elder law attorney with over forty-five years of legal experience. She focuses her practice in the fields of elder law, estate planning for clients of all ages, probate and trust administration, and guardianship. Attorney O’Reilly graduated from Duke University with a degree in psychology and received her law degree from Northeastern University School of Law in Boston, Massachusetts. She is certified as a specialist in elder law by the National Elder Law Foundation, and has been consistently selected for recognition as among the Best Lawyers in the DC area, Best Lawyers in America, and Super Lawyers in the fields of elder law and estate planning. Attorney O’Reilly has received the highest possible peer-review rating in both legal ability and ethical standards from Martindale-Hubbell.
Born and raised in Fairfax County, Attorney O’Reilly practiced law in the Boston area for 25 years before returning to northern Virginia in the fall of 2003. She is active in several community and non-profit groups and has served as an officer and a member of the board of directors for the Rotary Club of Herndon-Reston, the Council for the Arts of Herndon, and Choralis. She is a frequent instructor for both legal and community groups, including Virginia Continuing Legal Education, the Virginia Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, the National Business Institute, Reston Presents, and the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute of George Mason University, and has published numerous articles in connection with those programs.
