Once-famous rapper has difficulty making child support payments

Even celebrities are not immune from family related legal issues, as Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert's famous divorce case shows (along with many others, like Jennifer Lopez). However, they aren't the only ones. Child support payments can be a source of confusion and frustration, and no one is immune. From the occasional sperm donor to celebrity figures, anyone can be affected by court ordered child support payments.

In the world of celebrities and entertainers, high earning power does not always last forever. Many years ago, the Ying Yang Twins were among the hottest rap groups in the world. They were releasing one hit after the next and having no problem collecting plenty of money as a result.

Our Virginia readers may not spend much, if any, time in Georgia; however, you probably know a thing or two about this group. This is particularly true if you were listening to rap music during the early 2000s.

Unfortunately, one of the members of the group, known as D-Roc, has found himself in a bad financial situation. According to recent reports, the rapper was once earning $19,000 per month. At this time, he was required to pay $2,500 per month in child support to his daughter's mother.

However, things have taken a turn for the worse and the rapper now claims he is only earning $2,860 per month. For this reason, paying out $2,500 in child support leaves him with almost nothing. As a result, he filed paperwork in the state of Georgia requesting that his child support payments be lowered due to his decline in income. Fortunately for him, his request was granted and his new monthly payment is only $550.

It is hard to stay at the top of the entertainment industry, regardless of how popular somebody becomes. In the case of D-Roc, he found this out the hard way. Not only did his income greatly decline, but this led to a hardship related to his child support payment.

Anyone who feels they are paying too much for child support should consider a child support modification. While it is never guaranteed that you will end up with a lower payment, it is worth your time to see how the judge may rule.
