Child support office bogged down, looking for volunteers
Many people take for granted the fact that they receive a child support payment on time every month. They expect this money to make its way to them, month in and month out, no matter what. However, they don't realize that there is a lot going on behind the scenes to ensure that this happens.
Our Virginia readers may not have any issues with receiving child support payments on time, but this doesn't mean that people in the rest of the country are not facing hardships here and there.
In the state of Texas, Attorney General Greg Abbott is reaching out to Brownsville residents to volunteer some time at the local child support office. Every year, the Brownville child support office is faced with handling more than 16,000 child support cases. As you can imagine, this is a giant workload for those who are responsible for the administrative work.
Volunteer help is being requested five days a week, between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. These people will be looked at to help with a variety of tasks, including but not limited to filing documents, data entry, and assisting child support officers.
Just like every other part of the country, the success of any child support program falls largely on the system that is in place. With the help of volunteers, the Brownville child support office, which is extremely busy month after month, will receive the help necessary to provide children with the appropriate financial resources.
If you receive child support every month, don't take this for granted any longer. Instead, consider the people behind the scenes at your local child support office who work hard, day after day, to keep everything in order. As you can see by this story, help is needed in some parts of the country.
